About Cher Marie ~
I grew up in Red Wing, Minnesota on the Mississippi River. I relocated a few times, but have been back in this area (on the Wisconsin side) for nearly two decades!
Those that know me know that for most of my life I've been a nature girl; outside hiking the woods, climbing the bluffs and trees, and exploring the caves. Much of the time I'd be on horseback. Those were the best times.
I'd collect wildflowers, roots, strange pods & nuts, driftwood, rocks, frogs, turtles, snakes, and insects. I would bring home injured or sick animals to try to help them. Needless to say, I lost a few and suffered the feelings of losing these precious babies.
But I seemed to be on some sort of mission and was determined to find out what it was. There was something driving me and I wasn't sure why. I was here to learn something.
My great Grandfather and great Uncle were both 'healers' and used laying on of hands in their work. I had the opportunity to know my great Uncle and as I became more interested, he shared some of his experiences with me. It was partly through his encouragement that helped drive me to my purpose.
I took Reiki I & II, Flower Essences Classes, and some Astrology classes.
A few years later I certified in Ersdal Zone Therapy (a signal system through the feet) with the late Dr. Charles Ersdal, MD, MA, and Christine Horvath, CZT in 1996. Continuing in Advanced Zone Therapy; Anatomy, Physiology, Neurons, & Pathology of the Brain, and the Cardiovascular System Physiology & Pathology in 1997.
I studied Basic Swedish massage at Sister Rosalind School of Massage Therapy in 1999 as a prerequisite for Equine Massage.
Medicine Woods Herbals I started making my own herbal products & soap, and Medicine Woods Herbals, a home-based hobby business, began in 1999.
Continuing my quest for learning, I took a Master Herbalism Class offered through Center for Healing Arts Herb & Eco School here in Wisconsin in 2008 and received Master of Herbalism in early 2010.
In searching for my true purpose, I've combined what I've learned formally and through experience to help animals with herbs, crystals, and Reiki...and of course lots of Love!
Through my research and social networking, I have found other healers who do very important work helping animals. I'd like to introduce Animal Communicator Janet Roper at Talk2The Animals. Janet's amazing communication abilities really helped me with my mare Breeze who had Cushing's Disease.
Breeze & MeThere comes a time when you have to let go of your animals. Breeze left us on a beautiful Indian Summer day in late October of 2009. I'm grateful for having her in my life these past 12 years, the lessons I've learned, and the close bond we had. See my tribute to Breeze.
I love the connection between nature, the earth, consciousness, and wellness. I'm looking towards the future; the future of my children, of the animals, and our planet.
Please feel free to read some of my articles..and your comments are much appreciated!
Blessings!
Cher Marie
